Located deep in the heart of Dallas near the Design District, just northwest of downtown, the 23,000 sq. ft. facility at Dallas ScareGrounds was established in 1996 and boasts three distinctly themed haunted attractions: The Terrortorium, The Necrotorium, and The Hallucinatorium. One admission price gains entry into all three high quality attractions, which are seamlessly linked together. Back again, and better than ever, our Festival!: food, entertainment, and gifts. Formerly known as Dr. Blood's® ScreamScapes, Dallas ScareGrounds has hosted several special events over the years. In 1997, the United States Postal Service chose the creepy atmosphere at Dallas ScareGrounds to unveil their line of classic Universal Studios Monsters postage stamps. 1998 featured Laserfrights, a psycho-delic lobby light show of unimaginable splendor. In 1999, to help celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of the horror classic "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre", Dallas ScareGrounds hosted a Texas Chainsaw Barbecue, starring Gunnar Hansen, the actor who portrayed the original Leatherface. Included in this celebration and performing in the lobby was local Dallas "death lounge" band and Last Beat Records recording artist The Necro-Tonz. The year 2000 brought about the introduction of the all-new 3-D Hallucinatorium, a bizarre and terrifying realm of three dimensional hysteria! And, in 2001, we introduced our FestEvil! - a great way to "kill" time and gather your courage before begining your journey into the macabre! Dallas ScareGrounds was voted "BEST HAUNTED HOUSE" in 1998 & 2003 by the Dallas Observer. In 1999, we were recognized as one of the country's "BEST SEASONAL HAUNTS" by American Way magazine. And, in 2001, were named "BEST HAUNTED HOUSE" in the Metroplex by dfw.LifeOnTheNet.com. |
